皆さん、こんにちは。
突然ですが、日本の皆さんの中で現在このブログを、携帯電話・スマートフォンの Opera Mini や Mobile で読んでいる方はいますか？

Opera Software が毎月発表しているモバイル Web の動向に関するレポート "State of the Mobile Web" の最新号によれば、なんと Opera Mini/Mobile ユーザーの皆さんの過半数（56%）が、携帯・スマホ等の端末だけでインターネットを楽しんでいるようです。
Opera Mini ユーザー数が急成長しているインド・インドネシア・パキスタンの3カ国では、それぞれ 40%・48%・48%のユーザーが、主に携帯電話で（もしくは携帯電話のみで）インターネットに接続しているとの結果が出ています。

このたび Opera Software は On Device Research 社と共同で、Opera Mini/Mobile のユーザーの特性と、他のモバイルブラウザのユーザーの特性を比較調査いたしました。 調査の対象は全世界34000人のユーザーの皆さんです。

典型的な Opera Mini/Mobile ユーザーはこんな人たちです

リサーチから浮かび上がったのは、次のようなユーザー像でした：

・ 男性が大多数で、女性の割合は5人に１人でした（南アフリカとタイではもう少し女性が多いようです）。
・ 平均年齢は18～24歳です。ただし、ハンガリー・フィリピン・アメリカ・マレーシアでは何故か35歳以上となっています。
・ エジプトならびにサハラ以南アフリカ・南アジアの各国では、非 Opera ユーザーと比べて、Opera ユーザーの皆さんの方が学歴が高いか就業中である傾向が見られます。
・ 他のブラウザのユーザーと比べて、より長時間・より頻繁にネットサーフィンしています。75%もの Opera ユーザーの皆さんが毎日インターネットに接続し、多くの国々で一回の接続につき1時間以上インターネットを楽しんでいます。
・ また、皆さんはコンテンツに対してより積極的で、音楽などのコンテンツをダウンロードして購入しています。

もちろん、これらの結果はそれぞれの国やユーザーグループごとに異なってきます。例えば、フィリピンやブラジルの Opera ユーザーは世界でも最も SNS に熱中していますし、バングラディシュの Opera ユーザーはゲームのプラットフォームとして携帯を愛用しています。

ひるがえって、今このブログをお読みになっている日本の皆さんはどうでしょうか？
もしもこのブログを読んでいる皆さんの中に、18～24歳の男性で、現在社会人か学生さんで、毎日 Mini か Mobile からインターネットに接続しては最低1時間以上オンラインになり、音楽やゲームなどを日常的にダウンロードしている方がいたら、皆さんこそが Opera の典型的ユーザーかもしれません。

今回のリサーチで浮かび上がってきたのは Opera Mini と Mobile のユーザー像でしたが、さて、デスクトップの Opera の典型的ユーザー像はどんな人たちでしょうか。機会があれば見てみたいですね。

Here's yet another Opera 12 snapshot with a number of fixes, including several common crashes. It contains Out Of Process Plugin fixes, Hardware Acceleration fixes and Skin fixes.

For Hardware Acceleration fans we have font bugs fixed and new Renderer preference which the user can set to 1 to prefer the DirectX back-end, or 0 to chose OpenGL. Make sure to turn on Hardware Acceleration in opera:config, to check this out (Hardware Acceleration is turned off by default in Opera 12, and the new preference has no effect).


WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

A labs release of Opera is now out with support for the following extension APIs:

• Screenshot
• Resource loader (normally used in conjunction with the screenshot APIs)
• URL filter updates (normally used for Ad Blocking extensions)

Please note that these APIs will not be part of Opera 12, but a later release.

Back in November, we released a standalone build of Opera Dragonfly's style profiler. In today's release on the experimental path, the profiler is now integrated next to the other Opera Dragonfly tabs and tools.

When switching to the Profiler tab, Opera Dragonfly will ask to reload the page. This is necessary in order to get the best possible profiling data, without any overhead from other debugging services that Opera Dragonfly usually runs. ^[1]

Please note that this is the same version of the profiler that was previously released in the standalone version, so there aren't any new pieces of functionality. However, we're already working on more features, such as the ability to zoom into the timeline.

This release also includes the inspection of return values that was mentioned on the blog recently.

1. ↑ When Opera Dragonfly is opened, it starts a few services for debugging purposes. One of these is the ECMAScript debugger service, which disables JIT. By disabling this service, the profiler will give much more accurate data, since JIT will remain enabled.

Last post by dolzark: wmvファイルはWindows Media Player（以下WMP）プラグインで開き、再生できるのですが、それ以外の形式（例えばmp4とかaviとか）を同じようにWMPプラグインで（Operaのウインドウ内で）開くように設定したいと考えています。FirefoxおよびFirefox用WMPプラグインは導入済みです。
現状ではmp4はQuickTimeプラグインで開き、aviはダウンロードするようになっていますが、mp4は再生できたりできなかったりします。ダウンロードしてWMPで開くと全て問題なく再生できます。
ただしQuickTimeプラグインで再生できるものであっても、エンジンが違うためかWMPで再生した時と比べて明らかに重いものがいくつかあります。

そもそも、WMPで再生できるものはWMPプラグインでも必ず再生できるのでしょうか？

We've been working hard recently to improve the functionality available inside Opera extensions, and today we are proud to reveal some of the fruits of our labours. In this article we'll share with you some new experimental desktop builds that feature three new extension APIs: the screenshot API, the resource loader API, and several updates to the URL filter API.

This week we are going to make a departure from our recent run of member mentions in Asia with a special Opera fan from France. (Su-per!)

Our Member of the Week is a great example of those Opera fans who go above and beyond to help us. He started a French website called Opera-Fr.com. His site promotes Opera and shares Opera news in French. He also runs a Twitter account promoting Opera in French!

Today's new release on the Opera Dragonfly stable branch includes some major improvements to our color picker. It now opens next to the color being edited, instead of being a floating window. The interface itself has been made lighter, with a smaller size and a gray background. The alpha value is now always available, while previously it only appeared when the original color being edited was specified as rgba or hsla. The palette is available in the bottom left corner and colors can now be added and removed directly from here.

The interaction has also been improved. Scrolling with the mousewheel over the color space will now move the pointer towards or away from the cursor depending on the direction. This makes it easy to blend colors between two points. OK and Cancel buttons have been added, based on user feedback.

But it's not all just about the colors. In this release, we also improved inspection of getters. They will now be presented as getter in italic, and clicking this text will evaluate the getter and show the according value.

In the Network panel, we've updated the UA presets for global header overrides in the options tab to reflect some of the latest browers. And, as a final tweak for this build, Opera Dragonfly will now use the system's application font for its interface elements.

スピードダイアルの表示ボタンはあるのに、非表示がopera:configからしかで出来ないのは面倒です。
スピードダイアルを表示しているときのスパナのボタンに組み込まれればすぐに変更できて良い思うのですが。
